• Bet – going on the strength of your hole cards, the flop and the river cards, each player either bets to stay in the game, or folds their hand
• The river – the final card, the river, is laid amongst the flop and the turn cards. By now, each player should believe that they have a winning hand (unless they are planning on ‘bluffing’ – pretending they have a stronger hand than they actually do)
• Bet – going on the strength of all cards that haven’t been dealt, each remaining player bets to finish the game, or folds their hand

After this final round of betting, all remaining players show their cards to the rest of the players and the dealer. The dealer then states who has the highest hand and passes the entire pot to the winning player. In the case of two winners, the pot is split equally amongst the winners.
